![]() I recognize a lot of this is just me expecting something different from what I got. Just from a layout perspective, the relative inexperience of some of the artists was clear, and it left me struggling to read some of the pieces. Often, many of the comic pages were cluttered, difficult to see, difficult to follow, or difficult to read. With such an innovative approach to the tarot and to storytelling in comic form, I was hoping for and expecting some stronger interpretations.Īdditionally, at times, I felt some of the art would have worked better as not in comic form. I know some of this is likely limited space, limited time, or just a different vision from what I was expecting, but I found a lot of the tarot interpretations to be largely unexplored, or at least following the sorts of tropes or expectations that I've seen so many times before. I will admit that a small part of me is disappointed with what the stories presented were. In terms of what this anthology represents for storytelling, for representing underrepresented voices and artists, this is 5 out of 5 stars. ![]()
